I had a very intense experience of accidental telepathy with my husband a few months ago. Last May, actually. It took us both by surprise because we weren’t even trying to mess with each others’ minds that day. It just… happened. Out of the blue.

We’ve shared some telepathic experiences before but nothing dramatic. None of the previous experiences had been as intense, as clear, and as strong as this one was.

Actually, I don’t know if our experience was telepathy. It could have been astral travel, too, for all I know. Anyway, I do know for sure it was something fancy, something unexplained, and something that seriously made our jaws hang open for a while.

How It All Began

My husband went out for lunch with his friends while I was staying at home. After lunch, he was supposed to go to work, so I was expecting to have a few hours at home to myself.

I was laying on the couch in the living room, reading a book and listening to some music that was playing on my hubby’s computer. I was facing away from the computer so I wasn’t able to see it.

Freaky Feelings of Presence

Suddenly I had a very strong feeling that my husband was sitting at his computer. I knew it wasn’t possible but the feeling was so strong and so persistent I had to get up and take a look at the computer, just to make sure there was no one at it.

Of course there wasn’t. I continued reading my book.

The feeling of presence, of my hubby sitting at his computer, lasted for a minute or so. The feeling was so intense I had to get up a couple of times again to look at the computer. I felt stupid doing so but the feeling was so strong I was afraid I was losing my mind. Was I going crazy? Was I hallucinating or something?

Next, the worst-case scenarios kicked in. What if something had happened to my hubby? I’m a paranoid worrywart who’s incredibly talented at cooking up the juiciest worst-case scenarios, so I was worried he might have died and the thing I was feeling was his spirit’s last visit to our home.

I got the urge to call him to make sure he was ok but I thought I was just overreacting again, so I didn’t call him. I didn’t want to seem silly!

The Surprising Verification

About 10 minutes later my husband came home, totally unexpectedly, but also to my great relief. He said he’d eaten his lunch and was on his way back to work, but that he came home to quickly pick some stuff he had forgotten and to turn his computer off.

When he had turned his computer off and was packing his stuff, I told him about the weird feeling I’d had only a few minutes earlier. He looked funny and said, with some astonishment in his voice, “That’s scary. When did you get that feeling?”

His seriousness and astonishment scared me. I thought he was worrying about my mental health, too!

I told him it happened about 10 minutes ago. He began looking even more astonished and said, “About 10 minutes ago, I thought I should come back home and turn off my computer. I visualized myself sitting at the computer and doing so, I could feel myself sitting in my chair, at the computer. After that, I borrowed a friend’s bike and came back home to do it.”

Ha! I wasn’t losing my sanity, after all!

Coincidence or Something Cooler?

We discussed the incident briefly before he went back to work. We did ponder the possibility of coincidence, that we were simply so eager to believe in all this fancy stuff that we were just reading way too much into it. However, we liked our delusions, so we shrugged off the possibility of coincidence.

At first, we thought it was telepathy, but of course it could have been something else. We were also wondering which one of us had created the connection or whatever it was. It could have been my husband alone but I think it took the two of us to form the connection – him to send the signal or travel to his computer, me to receive it or sense his astral body at the computer. However, if he was astral traveling, he should have been very aware of it, shouldn’t he?

Coincidence? Telepathy? Astral travel? I don’t know but it sure was an interesting, and a very powerful, experience!
